Happy 4th of July!
Welcome to my first post!
So I should start out by telling you
that I am absolutely obsessed (in a healthy way) with Pinterest! Lol. I have
found so many good ideas, some of which I have already tried and others that I
‘repinned’ for future reference and probably have no idea that I even pinned
them.
I make sure that before I pin anything
I have or can find whatever I need for the project/recipe here in my area. Yes,
Walmart may have what I am looking for if I don’t have it at home, but driving
an hour and a half with 2 young kids is just not an option for this mom! If I
don’t have the specific item, I do a little more digging online to see what I
can substitute for it. =)
My goal for this blog is to make life a
little easier for you without having to spend a lot of money and still being
able to enjoy some of the 'finer' things in life! =)
After that little note, it is on to
today’s project! Thanks for stopping by!
"Silkiest Legs Ever"
So I am pretty certain that every woman
enjoys having legs that are sliky smooth. It is amazing to me how many products
are out there that say they can help with this and how much they cost! How are
you really supposed to know if they work unless you buy them?! I'm pretty sure
that I am not the only person out there that has bought something that looks promising
only to get home and find out it was a total waste of money.
I bought a 'body scrub' from a friend
through a catalog party here a while back along with some face wash (I was
thinking about this earlier, and I realized that I spent over $70 on 2(!) items
and ended up throwing one of them out!). Seeing as how I don't have a money
tree growing in my backyard (sure wish I could find one of those) I started
looking for the next best thing, a recipe for a homemade scrub! Yes, in my
opinion, a lot of things are better homemade!
After reading up on a few different
options, I found that some of the 'recipes' called for things that I didn't
have at home. So I decided to come up with my own and I tell you what, it's
probably so easy that you won't think that it actually works, but I assure you
it does!
Believe it or not, all you need is
sugar (I used regualr white sugar) and baby oil. I have had a bottle of baby
oil in my bathroom since I was pregnant with my oldest son (he is now almost 3
lol) and I never had a use for it until now!
I used about 2 cups sugar and a cup of
baby oil and mixed them together. I shaved my legs once like normal and then
used the sugar scrub. I rinsed the sugar scrub off and then shaved my legs
again (yes again). After rinsing again my legs looked a little oily but they
sure were soft!
I have now found my own homemade recipe
for sugar body scrub!
